The latest statistics on veteran suicide rates are available from the 2024 National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report. Here are some key findings:
2022: There were 6,407 veteran suicide deaths, with an unadjusted rate of 34.7 per 100,000.
2021: There were 6,404 veteran suicide deaths, with an unadjusted rate of 34.0 per 100,000.
2020: There were 6,146 veteran suicide deaths, with an unadjusted rate of 31.7 per 100,000.
